Current CHFA homeowners with an FHA loan may be able to refinance their loan through the CHFA FHA Streamline Refinance program.

The CHFA FHA Streamline Refinance program may allow current CHFA homeowners with an FHA first mortgage loan an opportunity to reduce their mortgage rate and monthly payments, without having to pay off an existing CHFA DPA Second Mortgage Loan at the time of refinance.* CHFA will allow a one-time subordination of the CHFA DPA Second Mortgage Loan to the new CHFA First Mortgage Loan.** There would be no changes to the interest rate or loan term on the existing CHFA DPA Second Mortgage Loan.

Program Highlights

  • Borrower(s) must be a current CHFA homeowner with a CHFA FHA first mortgage loan
  • No credit, income, or purchase price limits
  • Most existing CHFA DPA Second Mortgage Loans may be subordinated to the new CHFA FHA first mortgage loan.
