ballot measures impact housing and economic development
The General Election held on November 5th decided several measures related to housing and economic development.
Statewide
Voters passed a constitutional amendment that will modify property tax exemptions for veterans with disabilities.
Local Ballot Measures
Counties and municipalities decided on 33 ballot measures related to affordable housing and economic development activities. This included a measure from La Plata County which passed Ballot Issue 1A to use revenues from their existing lodging tax to support workforce housing and other community improvements. In addition, the Town of Avon voted to increase taxes to fund community housing.
