a message from chfa's executive director and ceo
Dear CHFA partners and customers,
Earlier today, I shared with the Board of Directors my intention to retire as CHFA’s Executive Director and CEO effective March 2025.
As you might imagine, I have given this decision a great deal of thought. It is with humble gratitude and pride that I have reflected on the many accomplishments we have achieved over the 35 years I have been a part of this great organization. CHFA has been a foundational part of who I am. The work we have done together—whether in my role as a college intern, a member of CHFA’s Business Finance team, Asset Management Director, COO, or for the past 14 years serving as Executive Director and CEO—and the impact we made to strengthen Colorado through innovation, community and partner engagement, and intentional investment will always be among my proudest accomplishments.
It has been my honor to lead CHFA during times of significant market transitions, political shifts, a global economic collapse, a national pandemic, and even on some rare occasions just normal days. Through it all, I have remained inspired by CHFA’s staff and their dedication to our mission. Today, CHFA is widely recognized among the top HFAs in the nation with over $2 billion in annual production and an investment footprint exceeding $14 billion. I’m also proud of the fact that CHFA has for the past two years been honored as a Great Place to Work® by Fortune magazine. With the continued guidance of CHFA’s Board of Directors and the commitment of our staff, I have every confidence that CHFA’s tradition of excellence will carry forward for generations to come.
To facilitate a smooth transition, CHFA’s Board of Directors will convene a Search Committee to select the next Executive Director and CEO.
In the meantime, as I like to say, it will be business as usual. As always, the only reason CHFA exists is to fulfill our mission, and we will continue to do so with a focus on meeting our customers’ needs and working towards our vision that everyone in Colorado has the opportunity for housing stability and economic prosperity.
Sincerely,Cris A. White
Executive Director and CEO
