headshot of Thomas Bryan(DENVER) – Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA) is pleased to announce that its Board of Directors has appointed Thomas Bryan as executive director and CEO, effective March 1, 2025. Bryan has served as CHFA’s chief financial officer since 2019 and previously served as CHFA’s controller/director of accounting.

“It is a true honor to be selected as CHFA’s next executive director and CEO,” said Bryan. “It’s been a privilege to contribute to CHFA’s mission over the years, and to work alongside communities and partners in addressing affordable housing and economic development needs across the state. I look forward to carrying this work forward as CHFA continues to pursue its vision that everyone in Colorado will have the opportunity for housing stability and economic prosperity.”

As executive director and CEO, Bryan will lead the overall operations and management of CHFA, leveraging all available resources to serve its mission effectively while overseeing the organization’s long-term sustainability. The position is appointed by and reports to the Board of Directors, which is the governing body of CHFA vested with CHFA's statutory authority. “We are confident in Thomas’ strategic leadership, financial acumen, and bold vision to further advance CHFA’s mission and vision to create housing stability and economic prosperity for Coloradoans,” said Amber Hills, chair of CHFA’s Board of Directors. “Throughout his tenure, Thomas has demonstrated dedication and passion for CHFA’s mission, his team, and the communities CHFA serves.”

Bryan will succeed Cris White, who will retire from CHFA on February 28, 2025, following 15 years of dedicated service as executive director and CEO, and more than 35 years at CHFA.

Prior to joining CHFA, Bryan served as controller and deputy finance director for the City of Centennial, accounting manager for the Town of Parker, and as a senior accountant for FirstBank Holding Company.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration degree. Bryan is a graduate of the Government Finance Officer Association’s Advanced Government Finance Institute, the National Council of State Housing Agencies’ Advanced Executive Leadership Program, and the Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation’s Leadership Denver program. He is a 10-time recipient of the Government Finance Officer Association’s Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting. Bryan is a Certified Public Funds Investment Manager (CPFIM) and holds an active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license in the State of Colorado.

In his spare time, Bryan serves on the Boards of Directors of the Latino Community Foundation of Colorado, Hope Communities, and the Colorado Middle Income Housing Authority.
