boulder county fires
Dear CHFA Community,
Our hearts and minds are with all who have been impacted by the devastating fires that occurred in Boulder County last week. CHFA has been actively evaluating our single family, multifamily, and business customers and nonprofit partners in the area to identify any impacts on them and to offer resources and assistance as needed. In addition, we stand ready to support our state and local partners who are on the front lines of leading the immediate and long-term recovery efforts.
Yesterday, Boulder County announced 1,084 homes and seven commercial buildings are estimated to have been destroyed, with even more damaged. On the heels of the pandemic’s pressure on Colorado’s over-burdened housing market, this loss adds to the challenge we face as a community to ensure that everyone in Colorado has the opportunity for housing stability and economic prosperity.
To assist with the recovery efforts, CHFA is making a $25,000 donation to the Community Foundation of Boulder County. We are asking all of our community partners who have the means to do so, to please join us in this effort. To assist, CHFA will match all donations made to the Foundation up to an additional $25,000, for a total fundraising goal of $75,000. In the face of the great need before the Boulder community, this is one small but important way for the affordable housing and economic development community to unite toward a common goal.

Times such as these remind us of our connection to each other and the importance of community. I take comfort in knowing that together we can make a small but meaningful difference to those we serve.
