Neighbor to Neighbor is a nonprofit organization headquartered in Fort Collins supporting members of the community across the housing continuum, from homelessness through homeownership. Their services include rental and utility assistance, resource navigation, financial coaching, and homebuyer education, which includes partnering with CHFA as an approved CHFA Homebuyer Education provider.
CHFA has been a proud sponsor of Neighbor to Neighbor fundraising events over the years, and has been pleased to support their programming through Direct Effect Awards and through rental assistance funding provided during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In 2021, CHFA awarded Neighbor to Neighbor $1,053,578 in federal 4 percent Housing Tax Credits and $11.5 million in Private Activity Bonds to support the renovation and preservation of Coachlight Apartments in Fort Collins, which includes 68 units of affordable rental housing serving individuals and families with incomes at or below 30 percent of the Area Median Income.
"CHFA’s support of Neighbor to Neighbor’s renovation project made it possible for us to fully renovate 68 affordable homes for families and expand our community programming space,” said Kelly Evans, Executive Director of Neighbor to Neighbor. “We are better able to serve our neighbors in a safe and welcoming community because of this exciting project. Residents, staff, and volunteers are grateful for the impact CHFA makes in Northern Colorado and across the state."
