With the help of CHFA, David and Joana were able to purchase a home of their own in Greeley after many years of renting.

“Home prices were high, and we had to rent, but we really wanted to provide an actual house for our daughter,” David explained. He and his wife Joana used a CHFA mortgage along with CHFA down payment assistance to purchase their home. David reflected on the benefits he and Joana got from attending CHFA’s homebuyer education class.

“It was nice to have that knowledge, and to learn how it works buying a home,” David recalled. “It helped us understand more about the monthly payment, what escrow is, and budgeting.”

Now homeowners, David and Joana enjoy having their own space, and that they can fix and upgrade their home to make it their own.

“There’s nothing better than having your own home when you have a family,” David said.
